Tour 2016

This page has all the roads, routes and tours featured in the Tour 2016 supplement. Click on the routes to open a Google Maps route. Where a GPX file is available, click on the link to download the GPX file to your machine and open it with your sat nav's software. The GPX files will plug straight into a Garmin and the TomTom Rider 400 with no problems. If you use an older TomTom, you can use the free Tyre software to convert the Google Maps routes into the correct format for your sat nav. Click here to get Tyre

NB: Some PC users have had trouble downloading the files. If you have any difficulties, please email with "GPX request" as the subject line and specify the files you require. We'll email them as soon as we can.

Please note that distances are approximate and riding-time estimates do NOT include time taken for lunch, coffee, filling up, stopping to take pictures, etc.

The Three Peaks Motorcycle Challenge

The aim of the challenge was to get from Ben Nevis to Scafell Pike to Snowdon between sunrise and sunset - without using any dual carriageway or motorway. This is the route we attempted to take... which is flawed, as the Queensway Tunnel under the Mersey isn't single-carriageway. However, if you want to plan your own Three Peaks route, this might give you a starting point. Or you could not worry about the Mersey Tunnel and just enjoy this ride. Very definitely only for experienced high-mile riders.
